When we talk of a vocation, we mean relaxing in a serene, beautiful place away from the bustling city and your daily activities. On my vacation, I was looking for a hotel that would offer me more than just accommodation—a hotel that would give me an experience that I would look forward to returning to.
PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa offered me above my expectations. This hotel boasts Africa’s largest beach convention center and a family aquapark resort.
The hotel has invested in everyone, from children to adults. My kids were fully occupied with the range of activities in the hotel. They have clubs for children where they can learn and have fun.
The view of the beach from the comfort of my room, the delicious food, beautiful outdoor pools, clean and comfortable rooms, and the hotel’s Old Town Bistro offered a wide variety of drinks as you enjoyed the views. Just amazing.

The hotel is located on Serena Road, Shanzu Beach Area, which is 20 km away from Mombasa town. It sits on a 17-acre well-taken-care-of garden.
You can get to the hotel by Moi International Airport or Vipingo Airport. There are rental cars to take you to the hotel.

I was worried about the delays that may occur at checking in since I was tired from the journey and needed a rest. They proved me wrong; the check-in was flexible and fast since they serve 24 hours.

The hotel passed the test on the rooms according to what I expected. The room was organized and clean.
All the rooms have air conditioning, a private balcony where you can relax and enjoy the views of the ocean, full room service, a refrigerator, and a flatscreen TV, which came in handy because of the kids.

The hotel has skilled therapists dedicated to natural wellness and inner beauty. I enjoyed the wide range of pampering, relaxation, and stress relief treatments. This is all I needed in this vocation: rejuvenation and renewal.
Anyone can experience this treatment. They have tailored experiences for everyone and every need.

Their outdoor swimming pool gave the sunny treat in the comfortable lounges and towels for sunbathing. This may sound simple, but it was something I needed.
Those who work in close offices will understand having a sunbath is a reward for our bones. My skin and bones thanked me for this as I enjoyed a cocktail with the beautiful view. A true definition of a vacation.

Visiting the gym was my morning and evening dose. I had a goal of losing some weight on this vacation amidst the luxury and delicious food. The Uzima Gym was fitted with all I needed to achieve this goal.
The gym is fully equipped with an extensive range of free weights, state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, and top-notch cardiovascular machines like treadmills and cycles.

I could not resist the urge to treat my inner child to the thrilling water game in the aquapark. The park is equipped for the young ones and the adults. This is an activity you can’t miss.

Kids are the last excuse you can have for not going on that vacation you want. Here they have Marino Club, where they take care of children aged 5–12 by engaging them in fun activities.
I had a chance to explore the city and the beach knowing my kids are safe and well taken care of.

This is one of the things that made me visit this hotel and experience it myself. They have a wide range of cuisine to choose from and refreshing drinks.
- Dau Restaurant
The restaurant has the essence of Swahili culture, service, and liveliness. They serve Swahili cuisine among other cuisines of your choice. The meals here were irresistible, the themed night buffet, live cooking, and entertainment. Just amazing.
The restaurant has a seating capacity of 500 people. I had a chance to enjoy exceptional buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have in-house and non-resident guest catering.
- Old Town Bistro Restaurant
Here they serve the eclectic food line, which is a culinary approach that draws from a wide variety of culinary traditions, techniques, and ingredients from different cultures.
They will serve you wood-baked pizza, pastries, and a healthy smoothie, which was my favorite.
You can also enjoy a flavored coffee as you work on your unfinished work. They have cozy and comfortable spaces to enjoy their delicacies. This was sincerely my favorite spot; it felt alive and warm.

The hotel has exceptional services I must testify. If you have ever gone on a vacation with kids, you will understand. Kids need patience and 24-hour surveillance. I loved their unique activities for kids and babysitting services.
They are responsive and have a fast approach to problems you experience while here. There is nothing as frustrating as paying a lot of money for accommodation that does not reach the value. Their services met my value for money.
Value for money
The hotel met my value for money. They have great services, delicious food with a flexible menu, and a wide range of activities to make the most of your days here.
 I love outdoor activities like game viewing, a walk in the city to learn about their culture, the scenic streets, and the deep sea fishing or a ride in the boat. The prices were high with the range of activities, especially for adults, compared to the Manda Bay Hotel in Lamu.
